  1. This photograph really shows the decaying interior of the building and the light shining through the gap in the window suggests that the window has been vandilised. I also like the muted colour as it brings out the mould on the walls more.

  2. By desaturating the colours, the photo seems much colder. The moss has darkened and seems almost dead, as if the building has been there so long that even the rot cannot survive. The lighting in the top-left quadrant seems to be struggling to break through into the building and because of this the atmosphere in the photo has become much more opressive.

  3. 1.) the lighting in this photo reflects the sun coming through the top of the stairs higlighting the wood and stair area.
2.) the photographs have been edited well to stick to the theme behind the phototshoot and show 'urban decay'this is because the photographer has shadowed areas to create a dull finish.
3.)the photograph taken at the bottom of the stairs allows the photograph to show the length of the staircase , the damage and use the natural lighting to highlight.

  4. I like the use of ambient lighting as it is peeking through the boarded up door which draws your eye up to it and invloves the viewer by looking further into the photo.

The composition relates to the theme of urban decay because each part of the photo contains decay. I like that part of the stair rail is missing and that come of the plaster is coming off of the wall.
The viewpoint does not allow you to see everything upstairs which makes me think there is more decay up there. Also, as the builing is old it makes me think that the stairs are possibly rotten and unuseable, hence taking the photo from downstairs.

  5. I think the use of ambient lighting has worked very well and alomost suggests a 'light at the end of a tunnel'. I really like the fact the lines of the bannister help to draw your eye into the piece and the post at the bottom of the image is a strong focal point.

  6. The use of ambient lighting highlights the shadows and creates an eerie mood within the photograph.
I like the use of reduced saturation as it brings out the imperfections on the walls and makes the staircase stand out.
I like the way in which the staircase draws you into the photograph. The composition enhances the Theme of Urban Decay.
The view point suggests, past decadence and present neglect.
